The weekend is upon us with a stacked lineup of events including the official launch of local artist P_Tap's inaugural full length album this Saturday, November 17th, as part of the city's second installment of Swirls x Smoke.

Toronto's P_Tap, otherwise known as Pancho Bhogal, a DJ, producer, poet and painter, was heavily absorbed in rock and roll, 80s pop and 90s indie rock from an early age, which changed when his cousin, No.19 label co-founder and well-known DJ/producer, Nitin, introduced him to electronic music. Pancho began mixing records and gigging in various cities in Canada and the UK, and over time continued his creative exploration in studio, combining live instruments with electronic elements to create ambient, deep, groove-filled soundscapes. This initial album, titled Blackmoss, is a story spanning two decades, a creative composite of various passions from poetry to art to music, and is dedicated to his mother. Stay tuned for more from this seasoned artist as he brings decades worth of work to light - the album is slated for release in February 2019.

The pay-what-you-can, private event, created by local multi-media artist and visual storyteller, Flips, will feature his work, and is inspired by what he describes as the "World Cultures" of graffiti, tattooing and cannabis. Fusing traditional elements from around the world with urban themes, he creates stylized pieces with an intention to honour past communities, address present social conditions and advocate a new global culture for the future.

Attendees will experience a listening of the full record, presented by P_Tap, as well as performances by local selectors Gera, Jonathan Coe, DJ Lewy V and Yoduhbeatsmith.

When: Saturday, November 17 6PM-midnight

Where: 216 Augusta Avenue, Kensington Market, Toronto
