[PREVIEW] FOR THE PEOPLE LAUNCH LABEL & CELEBRATE WITH STAVROZ

This Friday, November 18th, For The People have curated another dynamic, multi-sensory event to celebrate the launch of their new imprint and initial artist signings: Talal & Zoi, Nature of Music and Alberto Jossue. Belgian group, Stavroz, will make their Toronto debut, accompanying the stacked label talent. Galvanized by the summer success of SENSELESS, For The People, a Toronto-based music collective and now record label, are branching beyond their annual show to create the imprint and a sensually captivating event series.

The night begins at 8pm with a curated art exhibition highlighting artists from Toronto and Montreal, featuring sculptures, video art, installations, animations and more. As the journey continues, lights will drop and the sound will rise with the label showcase and Belgian special guests.

Formed in 2011 by DJs and audio engineers, IJsbrand De Wilde and Gert Beazar, and joined shortly thereafter by Pieter De Meester and Maxim Helincks in-studio and for live performances, Stavroz’s sound is refreshing, organic and sensual. Their sound is imbued by layers of acoustic melody, transcendent waves and refined, deep house vibes. The night will feature a DJ set by IJsbrand and Gert alongside the ever-expanding talent and reach of the three featured label artists. There’s magic on Between The Lines, For The People’s inaugural release. The original track by Talal & Zoi, a dreamy, deep, evocative piece, is remixed with finesse by both Nature of Music and Alberto Jossue.

There will be plenty of drinks, even some candy, and catering by renowned chef Joe Friday!
