FEEL THE LOVE WITH BESTIVAL!
This weekend Bestival hits Toronto with an impressive array of artists, stages, unique experiences and attractions. The brainchild of UK DJ, promoter, radio host and festival curator, Rob da Bank with his wife, Josie, the festival’s creative director and producer, the event goes beyond music to offer revellers a remarkable sonic and visual landscape. Bestival is a free-spirited spectacle with costumes, virtual reality experiences, ecstatic dance, shamans, magicians, body painting, gourmet health food caterers, flashmob conga lines and more - all contributing to the wonderland atmosphere bathing the three stages.
This year’s fancy dress theme is the Summer Of Love, where glitter, bell-bottoms and love-themed costume expression is in full-effect. An award-winning festival in the UK, Bestival’s second year in Canada will be held in its new location at Woodbine Park, June 11 & 12.
This year’s lineup is exciting and has something for everyone - it's an opportunity to walk around and experience sounds you might never get to hear live otherwise, as well as top talent you love, while encountering new experiences, all filtered through this uniquely designed festive atmosphere.
The house and techno-infused Bollywood Stage headliners, Maya Jane Coles and Dubfire, are set to close two rich days of talent alongside Art Department, Joris Voorn, Jonathan Rosa, Lee Foss, Catz ’n Dogz and more.
The electro house flavoured Big Top Stage will be headlined by Porter Robinson and Tchami, alongside Madeon and others.
Finally, the more emotive, ethereal pop and rock Main Stage will house Tame Impala and rock legends, The Cure as well as Grimes, Jamie xx and many more. Toronto's summer is kicking off with some incredible shows, events and festivals and I'm stoked to check this one out again - definitely an experience not to be missed!
